She began her career as a TV actress, being featured in the TV films Malibu (1983) and California Girls (1985). She was also in comedy films The Perils of Gwendoline and Bachelor Party (both 1984) and the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen has gained a wide recognition due to her role in numerous heavy metal music videos including Ratt's (1984) "Back for More" Whitesnake's ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake's ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the late 2000s, Kitaen started appearing in reality television shows, including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which explored Kitaen's struggles with substance abuse. Julie Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, in the year 1961. She is the oldest of three kids to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was a housewife and a beauty contestant once as well as Terry Kitaen. Kitaen works for a neon sign company. Kitaen was born to a Russian-Jewish father and an Scottish mother. Kitaen was educated Jewish. In the year of 12, she began use the nickname "Tawny" and developed on her own initiative. She suffered from dyslexia as a child and dropped out of Mission Bay High School. 7.
